Flag Mount

I don't know if any of you have found a sure fire way to mount the flags DON got for us, but today I have. I was in Wingthings on friday looking around and low and behold right there in the show case were American flags. I ask Frankie how they were mounted and she pulled out this neat little bag with the perfect mounting kit. It is very easy to install and the flag is not moving believe me. I flew our colors through the hill country north of San Antonio today at 80 and she didn't budge. It is made to mount right to eather antenna. Of course the lower you mount it the less of a beating the flag will take. The kit cost $3.95 and its worth ever penny of it. Their phone number is 210-599-6763. Just tell Frankie that you want the flag mounting kit and that Glenn sent you. YOU'll NEVER LOSE YOUR FLAG AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! YA HOOOO.........Glenn

I received my flag on Monday and promptly threw away the attachment things that came with it. Here is what I came up with for and Idea. I used a hole punch and put two small holes in the "tube" section of the flag. I then slid the flag over the antenna covering up the load coil. (The instructions call it an FM load coil, but if I am not mistaken, that is the CB load coil). I then used two tie wraps, on on the top and one on the bottom, to secure the flag around the coil. The tie wraps are not so much to bind the flag to the antenna, but to keep the top and the bottom from sliding past the coil. Short of tearing the flag, I don't see how it can come off.  Testing. I can say that while the bike has been parked in the garage, the flag has yet to come off :-) I really need to get out and ride, don't you think. (Seriously, I'll report back when I take it out.)   ..........Larry Piekarski
