CB Wiring Diagram (NOT Yamaha CB!)

I got this from a guy off the WOTI. I know many do not have a CB and want one. Its for a goldwing but should work on the venture. Don, Steve if ya know someone in the electronics/avionics shops at work I was told that its simple to build and will integrate onto your bikes.

--------------------------
Here's the revised drawing I promised. Sorry it took so long, it's been a blur lately. I know this works because I put it on 2 bikes last weekend including a new version on my own. I mounted a new Cobra 19DX into the left fairing on my 1200 Aspy and built the relay assembly into the radio, looks like a factory job. This way all that exits the radio is the two 5-pin Din cable that connect between the amplifier and the headset junction lead box.
Instead of using the speaker out jack I tied directly to the internal speaker, this way if the headset is disconnected you can turn up the CB volume and listen to the internal speaker when parked. I dropped the noise filter assy, didn't seem to do anything anyway. What worked better was to install a potentiometer ahead of the matching transformer, this did two things. First, it eliminated the back ground noise from the CB even when the volume was all the way down and second it reduced the CB volume sensitivity.
Because the intercom sees the CB as another microphone input the CB volume was magnified by the intercom, turn up the intercom and the CB is also louder.  While connected to the headset adjust the potentiometer until you get you  get a distinctive decrease in the CB volume. This is a bit of a trade off between reducing the CB volume sensitivity and still having the CB mute the radio when receiving. Play with it until your happy with the results..........Good Luck, Rich & Ann Whittington
