Cracked Frames |

Cracked FramesI just discovered a section on cracked frames. and I quote from July of 1988 page 8 As the rear suspension flexes improperly on a worn suspension, the force applied to the frame through the front pivot arm may tear loose the Ears, which attach it to the frame. When this happens, the frame drops against the stops and you are riding a hard tail. More than one such failure has occurred with suspension wear as suspected cause. You may check your frame for damage by placing the bike on the side stand and examining the ears. This is where the front pivet arm and center sttand pivot on the same bolt arrangement. (Ed. Note: This problem has happened to me on my 83 Venture. It required a $360 welding job)...........Scott MacMartin
