Turn Signals Not Staying On |

Turn Signals Not Staying OnIf your flashers aren't staying on (cancelling prematurely, but still flashing if the switch is held over), try turning the ignition off, and then engaging the signal switch while you turn the ignition back on... Release the switch and the turn signal should keep going. With luck the problem will be fixed, at least until you turn the bike off again, and can go through with the "cheap fix" described elsewhere... Although this was a fairly specific problem, this worked for me, so I thought I'd pass it on, as working the clutch while holding the switch over was a bit of a handful ;)Louis Kohler Cheap Fix For Turn SignalsI had a problem with my turn signals for about a year before they finally quit totally. Then I checked at the dealer and fainted when told the price of the new part. Then I did not buy the Yamaha part.If you are prepared to lose the "self cancelling" function , then it is possible to put the signals back into operation using a standard car "clicker" for about 3 dollars. When you disassemble the flasher relay, you will be able to figure out which two wires control the "on/off", and you can wire those two wires to the "clicker" separately. The four way flasher is part of this device, with its own "clicker" and it will still work if you leave the other wires connected to the old Yamaha part. Scott MacMartin
