Valve Clearance

I read your tip on the Venture Web page about valve clearence and compression. I was wondering though does the compression go up or down (relative to the spec values) as the valves wear. Thanks for posting the tip, as a new Venture owner I've picked up lots of good tips from there. Ride On,

As valve clearance tightens, compression would then be reduced. If it is found that compression is below spec, but valve clearances are within their specifications, this could indicate that the piston rings have a carbon build up which usually can be freed up by using Yamaha Ring Free mixed in with the gasoline.
Congratulations on being a new Venture owner. I have enjoyed riding mine for 100,000 miles so far!
