Air Filter Mod |

This filter mod allows the use of the readily available automotive air filters. I use the Fram CA3717 (I believe Ford Tempo 4cyl). An adapter plate is needed that sits in the lip on top of the lower section of the air box. I made mine out of 1/8th aluminium plate. I used a jigsaw to cut out the approximate dimensions.(O.D.=210mm X 190mm) (I.D.=170mm X 195mm) after cleaning up the plate with a file, the plate can be fitted into the lower section of the airbox. A little filing may be required for final fit. Use silicone to set adapter in place. The air filter may need to have its square corners trimmed. It should fit tight into adapter plate. The inside lip of the airbox lid needs to be removed. (I used my die-grinder on low speed setting) The top should now fit and be screwed back on.
