Adding Windshield Air Vents |

I'm going to mount a Wing-type center vent in my windshield - getting hot these days in Iowa and I'd rather ride with my armored leather on for safety. Also curious if it will cut turbulence for the passenger a little by reducing the airstream collapse into the low-pressure area behind the shield.
I installed two round pop vents in my 05 RSV (like the old Windjammer fairings used). It was a piece of cake. The hole saw cost more than the vents!
My copilot has never said anything about buffeting, and I don't think there is any difference. We just did a 600 mile run after installing the vents, and she didn't say anything was different for her. In my opinion, the air space behind the fairing on this bike has been totally dead, with only a hint of air felt on my back from the vacuum. I have assumed it is the same for her. These vents break the vacuum and direct a stream of air around the lower rib area. You can feel a very strong air flow with your hand about 1 foot behind them, but anything further back is pretty diffused.
