Heated Hand Grips

Posted by Rey Kirkman on April 14, 1999 at 00:21:04:

For years BMW has had heated grips. They are an expensive option. The snowmobile people have been selling kits for heated grips for years. MCN magazine recommended a brand (Kinzler, I think) which I bought for less than $30! They were hard to find, but Dennis Kirk, the motorcycle parts guy, also has a snowmobile catalog and they are in there. They consist of a printed circuit on heavy guage plastic. You remove your grips and glue (provided) the plastic onto the handlebar/trottle. Then merely slide your existing handlegrips over the plastic. Wire them up to a two-speed switch. Tried them at 25 degrees and sleet/snow.

They kept my hands warm with a light deerskin gloves!
